Planned Releases of BELTS

Release 1 of BELTS was a preliminary internal release that had the capability to interface to the Exchange, to retrieve and store learning objects and their associated metadata.

Release 2 of BELTS was the first public release, being released as Version 1.0.0. It implemented the basic learning tool set functionality for the use of learning objects within was a preliminary internal release that had the capability to interface to the Exchange, to retrieve and store learning objects and their associated metadata.

Release 2 was made available to the public as Version 1.0.0 on March 4, 2003. An updated of Release 2 was made available to the public as Version 1.0.1 on August 21, 2003. Binaries and source code are available from the SourceForge Files page.

Release 3 implements the Curriculum Organiser functionality to provide a mapping between a neutral set of metadata terms on the Exchange and specific education system curriculum outcomes. This release also includes functionality to communicate between BELTS servers and replicate content.

Release 3 was made available to the public as Version 1.1 on August 28, 2003. Binaries and source code are available from the SourceForge Files page.

Release 4 provides support for newer versions of the Learning Exchangce, including support for resources as well as learning objects.
